Minimum 6 years of experience in a server admin role, with focus on Windows and VMware.
Complete VMware administration including vCenter build/upgrade, ESXi build/upgrade/patching and firmware upgrades, VM build, snapshot creation/deletion/restoration, VM re-register from VMDK files, ESXi health checks, VM datastore creation/extension/cleanup, VM resource resize (CPU & memory), troubleshooting backup failures in VM environments, V2V/P2V migrations, and VMware Tools upgrades.
Strong experience in VMware vSphere virtualization technologies including vROPS, vRA, and vRealize Log Insight.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, WSUS, and other patching tools.
Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based systems including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
Implement and manage virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere, vROPS, vRA, and vRealize Log Insight.
Responsible for Windows server DR activities, Group Policy management, create/modify policies, domain migration/consolidation, DNS server management, Windows patch management, NTP configuration, VAPT, and hardening of Windows servers.
Monitoring and maintenance of complete Windows and VMware infrastructure.
Identify and work on cost optimization opportunities for on-prem infrastructure.
Replication of VMs using RP4VM or other similar technologies.
Automating VMware cluster capacity reports for management.
Capacity reporting and capacity planning.
Physical and virtual server inventory management with required CMDB parameters.
Good experience in taking snapshots, cloning, and deletion.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging of Windows and VMware infrastructure.
Familiarity with RHEL servers.
Good to know PowerShell, Ansible, or other scripting languages.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
Familiarity with network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and routers.
Good understanding of networking concepts such as VLAN, ACL, etc.
Familiarity with storage infrastructure including storage and SAN switches.
Good understanding of storage concepts such as zoning and LUN provisioning.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Ansible.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and methodologies.
