Job Description
Support the Manager - VAT Reconciliation in operationalizing the end to end VAT reconciliation and governance framework across Group Operations. Ensure accurate, timely, and traceable reconciliations between source systems, core banking (e.g., Flex), and the VAT engine (Suntech); drive daily exception management, aged difference remediation, and governance reporting in line with the Enterprise Reconciliation Framework (ERF) and the VAT Governance Manual. Act as the day to day coordination point with Operations, Finance/Tax, Technology, Audit/Risk/Compliance, and IBG Ops teams.
Key Result Areas
Three Way Reconciliation Enablement: Accurate daily reconciliation across source systems, core banking, and VAT engine with timely break identification.
Legacy Difference Remediation: Reduction of aged mismatches through structured follow ups with owners.
Exception Report Ownership: First line ownership of exception report validation, distribution, and governance visibility.
Process Automation: On ground adherence to VAT Governance Manual and timely updates for evolving requirements and automation.
Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate deliverables across Operations, IBG Ops, Tax and Technology
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
Knowledge: Working familiarity with VAT regulations, reconciliation frameworks, and financial control policies; experience supporting BAU functions and automation
Skills: Strong analytics and diagnostics (MI interpretation, trend analysis), stakeholder engagement and influencing across Operations/Technology; proficiency in reconciliation platforms (e.g., TLM) and data tools (Excel/PowerBI).
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or Banking.
Experience: Typically 5-8 years in banking operations/finance with VAT exposure; reconciliation or audit experience preferred.
