Location: Lucknow (on-site / hybrid) · Type: Full-time · Start: Immediate · Salary: Negotiable, based on skills & experience
About the role: We're building a modern, accessibility-focused Drupal 10 website. You'll own the end-to-end design — from wireframes through a full, reusable design system — extending existing brand guidance into a polished digital product. On a lean team, you work independently and hand developers clean, build-ready designs. Accessibility isn't a final check here; it's a design principle from the very first wireframe.
Key responsibilities
- Produce wireframes for all key templates (homepage + map, country profile, resource library, article/news, events, forms, standard pages), mobile-first
- Design high-fidelity mockups and build a complete design system: typography scale, colour tokens, spacing scale, and a component library (buttons, cards, navigation/mega-menu + mobile drawer, modals, toasts, form elements, map legend)
- Design the interactive world map experience — states, hover/focus, the detail sidebar/modal, legend, and colour schemes — in close partnership with the front-end developer
- Extend existing brand guidance into a digital system without creating a new brand identity (no standalone logo work)
- Bake in accessibility from wireframe stage: all colour combinations checked to WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 body, 3:1 large text), clear focus states, and accessible form patterns (visible labels, inline validation, error messaging)
- Design a responsive 12-column grid with defined breakpoints (mobile → desktop)
- Deliver organised, developer-ready Figma files (components, variants, tokens, specs) and support developers through implementation
- Iterate through structured client feedback rounds at each design milestone
Must-have
- 2+ years UX/UI design for web
- Strong Figma skills — component libraries, variants, and design tokens
- Proven experience building a design system from the ground up
- Accessibility-first design practice with hands-on WCAG 2.1 AA knowledge (contrast, focus, accessible forms)
- Responsive / mobile-first design and prototyping
- Ability to own design independently and hand off cleanly to developers.
