Key Responsibilities:
Research Planning and Execution:
- Plan, execute, and drive user studies to understand user behavior and interactions with our products.
- Utilize methodologies such as focus groups, contextual interviews, fly-on-the-wall, and shadowing.
Behavioral Analysis and Archetypes:
- Identify behavior patterns among users and create behavioral archetypes.
- Promote understanding of user archetypes across business units through storytelling and engagement techniques.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate a holistic picture of the user experience to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and design teams to identify research needs and inform product decisions.
Product Lifecycle Representation:
- Conduct contextual user walkthroughs to identify gaps and opportunities for product improvement.
- Represent customer needs throughout the design and development lifecycle, from discovery to validation and adoption.
Adaptation of Research Techniques:
- Apply and adapt research methods to meet specific project goals.
- Engage directly with customers to define user types, use cases, and UX opportunities.
Influence and Validation:
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to guide product strategy.
- Validate feature and design directions through usability testing, early concept testing, and participatory design.
Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights.
- Present findings through artifacts such as user segments, persona frameworks, user journeys, and task analyses.
Mentorship and Advocacy:
- Mentor junior team members and champion UX research practices across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to drive research-informed design.
