Position Overview
You lead US tax compliance and advisory for a venture-backed fintech startup. You partner directly with the founders and global finance teams to shape tax strategy, mitigate risk, and enable rapid cross-border growth.
Role & Responsibilities
- You lead and manage US federal, state, and local tax compliance, overseeing preparation, review, and filing of returns.
- You provide tax planning and advisory services that optimise US tax positions and guide business decisions.
- You coordinate with external auditors, advisors, and consultants on complex US tax matters.
- You analyse intricate tax issues, identify risks, and deliver practical, actionable solutions.
- You ensure all reporting follows US GAAP and IRS regulations.
- You support cross-border transactions and other international tax matters that affect US operations.
- You mentor and train junior tax team members on current US regulations.
- You stay current on changes in US tax laws and advise leadership on their implications.
- You collaborate with finance and business teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting.
Must have Criteria
- You are a Chartered Accountant with an active US CPA certification (mandatory).
- You bring 710 years of hands-on US taxation experience across corporate, indirect, and international domains.
- You possess deep knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws.
- You have practical experience handling cross-border transactions and ensuring US GAAP compliance.
- You demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- You consistently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- You maintain strong attention to detail and superior organisational skills.

- You have prior experience in a Big Four or other top-tier accounting firm.
