Mantras2success Consultants is seeking a highly skilled US Tax Reviewer to oversee and ensure the accuracy of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in tax compliance, IRS regulations, and various tax software, coupled with a keen eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Return Review: Review and meticulously verify federal, state, and local tax returns for accuracy and full compliance with US tax laws.
- Regulatory Application: Ensure the proper application of IRS regulations, tax codes, and eligible deductions.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and proactively resolve discrepancies, missing information, or potential audit risks in tax filings.
- Collaboration & Feedback: Work collaboratively with tax preparers and accountants to provide constructive feedback and ensure necessary corrections are made.
- Tax Planning Support: Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize clients overall tax positions.
- Compliance Updates: Stay continuously updated on tax law changes and ensure compliance with all new regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide support in responding to IRS notices, audits, and tax authority inquiries.
- Software Utilization: Utilize various tax preparation software effectively, such as Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries, CCH Axcess, or Drake.
Required Qualifications
- Certification/Degree: CPA, EA (Enrolled Agent), or JD with a tax background (preferred but not always required).
- Experience: 1+ years of direct experience in tax preparation and review.
- US Tax Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax laws, GAAP, and IRS guidelines.
- Return Types: Experience working with 1040 (individual), 1120 (corporate), 1065 (partnership), and 990 (nonprofit) tax returns.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software and Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public accounting or tax advisory firms.
- Familiarity with international tax issues, SALT (State and Local Taxes), and multi-state filings.
