Job Description

  • Oversee and manage US indirect tax compliance for MoR operations, ensuring alignment with state and local sales tax laws.
  • Handle US sales tax registrations across relevant state and local tax authorities.
  • Lead US sales tax audits and manage related engagements with tax authorities.
  • Make decisions on corporate tax issues related to the MoR product and its implications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including international tax planning, accounting, tech teams, and third-party service providers to optimize compliance.
  • Drive improvements in indirect tax control frameworks and compliance processes.
  • Work with tax, product, and engineering teams to define and implement automated US tax compliance controls.
  • Promote awareness and provide training and updates on changes in indirect tax rules, systems, and policies.
  • Who You Are:
  • A US indirect tax expert with strong leadership, technical, and cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of navigating the fast-paced, high-growth landscape of MoR tax operations.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • 57 years of experience in US indirect tax compliance and large-scale tax project management
  • In-house experience within a multinational and/or at a legal/accounting firm
  • Deep knowledge of US state/local indirect tax laws and tax liability shifting models (e.g., MoR, marketplace facilitator)
  • Proven project and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored for multiple audiences
  • Experience working with engineering teams on scoping and deploying tax tech solutions
  • Ability to prioritize in dynamic, high-change environments
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree or professional qualification (CPA, JD, LLM, or Master's in Tax)
  • Experience in technology, payments, or financial services sectors
