JOB DESCRIPTION
US Billing Senior / Billing Analyst – SAP
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced US Billing professional with hands-on SAP billing administration experience and practical exposure to the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) billing cycle. The role covers project billing, invoice generation, reconciliation, unbilled revenue follow-up, dispute resolution, reporting, and coordination with US-based customers and project stakeholders. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with project managers, finance teams, and leadership to support accurate, timely billing and margin performance.
Key Responsibilities
● Execute end-to-end billing administration in SAP, ensuring billing data, project details, rates, time entries, approvals, and customer information are accurate.
● Prepare, validate, and process US customer invoices in line with contract terms, billing schedules, internal controls, and agreed service-level timelines.
● Handle multiple billing models, including manual/ad hoc billing, fixed-price billing, time-and-material (T&M), lump-sum, milestone-based, and consumption-based billing.
● Review approved timesheets, chargeability and billability data; run SAC dashboards and prepare burn reports after project-manager approval, where applicable.
● Launch Preliminary Billing Reports (PBR) and upload/load billing data into SAP BPP for project managers to review, edit, finalize, and approve.
● Generate monthly invoices and distribute them to customers through SAP or approved email/mail channels, as required.
● Reconcile billing data against contracts, project plans, time and expense records, purchase orders, billing schedules, and customer statements; investigate and correct discrepancies.
● Monitor unbilled items and pending billing, identify root causes for delays, and follow up with project managers and internal teams to secure missing approvals or documentation.
● Manage customer billing queries and disputes by performing root-cause analysis, coordinating with project managers and relevant teams, issuing corrected invoices or credit/debit adjustments where authorized, and tracking closure.
● Support write-off assessments and resolution workflows in line with company policy and approval matrix; maintain clear documentation and audit trails.
● Track project plans, billing milestones, contract changes, notes, and approvals; follow up with project managers to ensure changes are reflected correctly in billing.
● Escalate unresolved invoice disputes, overdue billing issues, and collection risks to client project managers and leadership as appropriate.
● Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on billing status, unbilled revenue, reconciliation breaks, disputes, write-offs, chargeability, billability, and other operational or financial KPIs.
● Perform billing audits and analysis of cost, chargeability, office/project performance, and margin-related data to support business decisions and sales competitiveness.
● Respond to management requests, support month-end close activities, and comply with internal controls, customer requirements, and applicable data-protection practices.
Required Skills & Experience
● Mandatory hands-on experience with SAP billing processes in a live production environment.
● Practical understanding of US billing operations and the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle.
● Experience with invoice creation and validation, billing reconciliation, unbilled items, dispute management, write-offs, and invoice corrections.
● Working knowledge of billing models: manual/ad hoc, fixed price, time and material, lump-sum, milestone, and consumption billing.
● Ability to analyze billing exceptions, identify root causes, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
● Strong Excel, reporting, analytical, communication, follow-up, and documentation skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet billing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a customer-facing finance process.
Preferred / Advantageous
● SAP S/4HANA or H4HANA exposure is optional/preferred; SAP billing experience remains mandatory.
● Exposure to SAP BPP, SAC dashboards, burn reports, PBR, project-based billing, and US customer invoicing.
● Experience supporting US clients, working with project managers, and handling invoice disputes and collections coordination.
