The Material Coordinator EI is responsible for planning, receiving, storing, issuing, tracking, and controlling all Electrical and Instrumentation materials required for project execution. The role ensures timely availability of materials, maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates with procurement, warehouse, engineering, QA/QC, and construction teams, and supports efficient material utilization while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of Electrical Instrumentation materials.
Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, packing lists, and material requisitions.
Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or material management systems.
Monitor material availability and identify shortages that may affect construction schedules.
Coordinate with procurement to expedite critical material deliveries.
Track material consumption and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
Ensure proper storage and preservation of cables, instruments, panels, junction boxes, cable glands, lighting fixtures, and other EI equipment.
Coordinate material transfers between warehouse and construction sites.
Maintain traceability of project materials and documentation.
Support QA/QC during material inspection and acceptance.
Reconcile issued, installed, returned, and surplus materials.
Participate in material forecasting based on project schedules.
Prepare Material Status Reports (MSR), Material Receipt Reports (MRR), and Material Issue Reports (MIR).
Ensure compliance with company procedures, project specifications, and HSE requirements.
Coordinate with engineering regarding approved material substitutions and revisions.
Assist during project close-out by preparing surplus, damaged, and reconciliation reports.
