Role Overview

The General Manager Jewellery Exhibition Sales & Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for revenue generation, exhibitor acquisition, sponsorship sales, and end-to-end execution of jewellery exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, forums, and allied B2B events.

The role combines strategic sales leadership with operational excellence, ensuring profitable growth, superior exhibitor experience, and flawless on-ground delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Revenue Leadership
  • Own P&L responsibility for jewellery exhibitions and related events
  • Drive booth sales, sponsorship sales, and allied revenue streams
  • Achieve sales targets, pricing strategies, and bundle offers
  • Lead and execute a high-performance exhibition sales division
  • Track daily/weekly MIS, pipeline, conversions, and closures
  • Develop strategic relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, brands, and exporters
  • Upsell cross-platform opportunities (print, digital, awards, forums)
  • Exhibition Operations & Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end event execution: venue planning, floor layouts, logistics, vendor management
  • Coordinate booth allocation, exhibitor services, power, branding, and signage
  • Ensure timely delivery of exhibitor kits, contracts, invoices, and compliance
  • Work closely with hotels, venues, freight forwarders, and contractors
  • Handle crisis management and on-ground problem resolution
  • Strategic Planning & Growth
  • Conceptualize and launch new exhibition formats, geographies, and verticals
  • Analyze market trends in gold, diamonds, silver, gemstones, and jewellery retail
  • Build long-term exhibitor retention programs and loyalty initiatives
  • Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams for positioning and storytelling
  • Create annual roadmaps and multi-year expansion strategies
  • Marketing & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Align with marketing teams for campaigns, creatives, EDMs, social media, and PR
  • Work with editorial teams for exhibitor coverage and show highlights
  • Coordinate with finance for invoicing, collections, and reconciliations
  • Maintain strong relationships with industry bodies and associations
  • Team Leadership & Governance
  • Recruit, mentor, and sales & operations executives and managers
  • Set clear KPIs, performance benchmarks, and accountability systems
  • Conduct regular reviews, training, and motivation programs
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and brand standards

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong B2B sales leadership in exhibitions or trade shows
  • Deep understanding of the jewellery industry ecosystem
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-management skills
  • Operational planning and multi-vendor coordination
  • Financial acumen and P&L management
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage large-scale Jewellery exhibitions
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

Experience & Qualifications

  • 515+ years in exhibitions, trade fairs,
  • Proven track record of high-value sales closures and event execution
  • Experience managing teams and multi-city / international events
  • MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.

Other Details

  • Office is based in Phoenix Marketcity Mall compled at Paragon Plaza, Kurla West
  • Office works 10.30 am to 6.30 pm; 5-days a week
  • Salary as per Industry Standards; With Special Incentive Structure for this position.
  • Family Medical Insurance is provided of INR 5 Lakhs after completion of 6 months probation
  • Mobile Phone expenses are taken care off by company.
