Dispatch Network is building the most efficient last-mile logistics network, through proprietary AI models for delivery optimization. We are looking to build a strong legal foundation to support our growth while maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple states and industry verticals.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive In-House Legal Counsel to build and manage the company's contracting, compliance, and legal risk framework. This role works closely with the CEO, leadership team, and external legal counsel, executing legal strategy while supporting day-to-day business operations in a high-growth startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts & Commercial:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate client, vendor, partnership, technology, and supplier agreements
  • Standardize contract templates and streamline contracting processes
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle including renewals and terminations
  • Advise on risk allocation, indemnities, IP, confidentiality, and dispute resolution

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure compliance with Labour laws, IT Act and DPDP Act, Companies Act, 2013, GST laws, and other applicable laws
  • Handle multi-state logistics and gig-worker regulatory requirements
  • Obtain and maintain statutory registrations, licenses, and certifications
  • Track regulatory changes and proactively flag risks

Risk & Governance

  • Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks
  • Support leadership on strategic decisions and expansion plans
  • Manage IP protection, trademarks, NDAs, and confidentiality frameworks

Employment & Vendor Support

  • Support HR on employment contracts, gig-worker agreements, and labour compliance
  • Coordinate with external counsel, auditors, and regulators as required.

Essential

Required Qualifications:

  • LLB with Bar Council registration
  • Preferred if you have completed B.Com or CS as part of academic qualifications.
  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate law, contracts, and compliance
  • Strong hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Working knowledge of GST, labour laws, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently in a startup environment
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred

  • Startup / logistics / e-commerce / platform business experience
  • Exposure to gig worker regulations and data protection laws
  • Prior in-house counsel experience
