Job Title: Unreal Engine Generalist – Immersive Technologies
Department: R&D – Immersive Technologies
Location: Vapi, Gujarat
Reports To: Sr. Manager – Immersive Technologies
Job Purpose:
To develop, optimize, and deploy high-performance real-time visualization applications using Unreal Engine 5 for immersive display systems. The role involves creating interactive experiences, integrating high-quality 3D assets, lighting, materials, animations, and visual effects while supporting multi-display, LED wall, projection, XR, and unconventional visualization environments. The Unreal Engine Generalist will collaborate closely with AV engineers, graphics programmers, artists, and hardware teams to deliver scalable, visually compelling, and performance-optimized immersive applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Unreal Engine Application Development
• Design, develop, and maintain real-time applications using Unreal Engine 5.
• Create immersive visualization experiences for:
• Simulation Platforms
• Digital Twins
• XR Applications
• Virtual Production Environments
• Interactive Demonstration Systems
• Develop Blueprint-based application logic and interactive workflows.
• Build modular, scalable Unreal Engine project architectures.
• Ensure stable application performance for production deployments.
2. Scene Development & 3D Asset Integration
• Import, optimize, and integrate 3D assets from DCC tools including Blender, Maya, or similar software.
• Create immersive environments using:
• Static Meshes
• Skeletal Meshes
• Landscapes
• Foliage Systems
• PBR Materials
• Configure:
• Lighting Systems
• Materials & Shaders
• Post Processing Effects
• Reflections
• Visual Effects (Niagara)
• Integrate animations, cameras, cinematic sequences, and interactive elements.
3. Rendering & Performance Optimization
• Optimize Unreal Engine projects for real-time rendering performance.
• Configure and optimize:
• Lumen Global Illumination
• Nanite Geometry
• Virtual Shadow Maps
• Post Processing Pipelines
• Rendering Settings
• Monitor GPU and CPU performance.
• Optimize projects for high-resolution, multi-display visualization systems.
• Maintain target frame rates while preserving visual quality.
4. Multi-Display & Immersive Visualization Support
• Develop applications for immersive display environments including:
• LED Walls
• Projection Systems
• Curved Displays
• Circular Displays
• Dome Visualization Systems
• Support deployment across synchronized multi-display environments.
• Collaborate with AV Engineering teams to optimize display layouts and rendering workflows.
• Configure cameras, display geometry, and projection workflows for immersive installations.
5. Collaboration & System Integration
• Work closely with:
• AV Engineers
• Graphics Engineers
• 3D Artists
• Software Engineers
• Electronics Engineers
• Product Teams
• QA & Validation Teams
• Support integration of Unreal Engine applications with AV hardware and visualization systems.
• Participate in prototype development, customer demonstrations, and validation activities.
6. Troubleshooting, Testing & Deployment
• Diagnose and resolve:
• Rendering Issues
• Blueprint Errors
• Shader Compilation Problems
• Asset Integration Issues
• Performance Bottlenecks
• Packaging & Deployment Issues
• Support testing, deployment, and application updates.
• Ensure reliable operation across production visualization environments.
7. Documentation & Version Control
• Prepare and maintain:
• Technical Documentation
• Application Architecture Documents
• Deployment Procedures
• Optimization Reports
• User Guides
• Maintain project source code using Git version control.
• Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Qualifications and Experience:
• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Game Development, Computer Graphics, Information Technology, Multimedia, Animation, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience developing applications using Unreal Engine.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating real-time visualization, simulation, gaming, XR, or virtual production projects.
• Experience developing interactive applications using Blueprint scripting.
