Job Description:

As a Unit Biomedical Engineer at Manipal Hospitals, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and proper functioning of medical equipment and devices used within the hospital. This role is critical in supporting the clinical staff and ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment and devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, monitors, and imaging equipment.

2. Conducting safety and performance tests on medical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

3. Collaborating with clinical staff to assess equipment needs and providing technical support for efficient and effective use.

4. Managing inventory, sourcing parts, and coordinating with vendors for equipment procurement and service contracts.

5. Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of medical equipment and reduce downtime.

6. Assisting in the evaluation and selection of new medical technology and equipment.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.

- 2+ years of experience in biomedical engineering or medical device maintenance.

- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment.

- Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines related to medical device management.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clinical and technical teams.

- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing equipment maintenance and service.
