The underwriting support process involves gathering and organizing information, preparing plan designs, grids, and sold rate templates, and ensuring all preliminary work is completed to make groups ready for underwriting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge on all Supplemental health benefits , Stoploss and life products
  • Process and evaluate data files to scrub large census files
  • This involves reviewing and formatting census data to use for pricing, populating upload templates, and uploading the census
  • Proficiency in health insurance product knowledge, familiarity with Underwriting industry language with mid-market ratings
  • Hands on experience on case setups, census scrubbing, and product comparisons
  • Experience in using underwriting support systems and applications
  • Running manual rates and pricing for groups requesting fee-based products, including ASO STD and Leave pricing
  • Partnering with assigned underwriter to provide back-end support for the manually rated portion of the business
  • Proficiency in handling fee-based pricing models, attention to detail, and timely & thorough communication skills
  • Assembling renewal packages to deliver to client representatives by merging renewal information for multiple lines of coverage into a single document
  • Fully underwriting renewals for mid-market clients that do not include disability coverage or leave benefits
  • Strict adherence to non-disclosure of client information by preserving client confidentiality
  • Research queries/requests sent by business partners/transaction processing/client support teams and replying to the same with minimum response time
  • Work with onshore partners and build professional relationship
  • Taking active participation in process improvements and automation
  • Excellent process skills with ability to identify and prioritize high risk transactions
  • Completing assigned responsibilities within defined SLAs

Skills & Required profile:

  • Apprx. 3-8 years of experience in US Life Insurance/ Reinsurance/Stoploss
  • Should be a Graduate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; analytical skills
  • Self-starter, proactive and target oriented with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Flexible to work in night shifts and must extend when business requires
