Underwrites health insurance products such as Term Life, Critical Illness, Hospitalisation & Surgery, and Outpatient etc.
Assess applicant insurability by analyzing information in the application, screen applicants on the basis of set criteria, determine the risk of insuring an applicant, and decide special terms of exceptions.
Prepare documents to obtain additional information, make arrangement for applicant to undergo medical examination etc.
Summarize medical reports received provided.
Propose underwriting decision.
Discuss with Senior Underwriter / Clinical Director for complicated cases.
Provide advice, when required, to colleagues from other department.
Work closely with related departments to ensure that insurance applications are processed timely and accurately.
Miscellaneous duties and administrative support as required for research & data analysis pertaining to underwriting
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Diploma / degree in any discipline
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in Insurance or Healthcare would be an advantage.
Sound understanding of underwriting concept.
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
