Job Description

A. Technical Underwriting

  • Perform underwriting assessments across Life and Non-Life Reinsurance lines, in accordance with the company's standards
  • Analyze submissions, historical loss experience, pricing models, and exposure data
  • Prepare underwriting recommendations for senior management review and approval
  • Assist in portfolio monitoring and performance analysis



B. Market & Client Engagement

  • Support development of relationships with cedents, brokers, and other key market stakeholders
  • Participate in client meetings, renewal discussions, and broker engagements alongside senior underwriters and internal referral contacts
  • Provide timely, professional responses to client and market queries



C. Risk Assessment & Exposure Management

  • Assist in evaluating risk exposures using internal models, zonal accumulation tools, and catastrophe modelling inputs (where applicable)
  • Support implementation of risk controls, underwriting limits, and internal governance requirements
  • Monitor emerging risks and support strategic responses



D. Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with IFSCA regulations applicable to reinsurance entities in GIFT City
  • Support the Principal Officer in preparation of regulatory filings and underwriting-related records
  • Adhere strictly to the company's internal controls, documentation standards, and audit requirements



E. Operations, Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare underwriting files, quotations, slip documents, endorsements, and related documentation
  • Maintain accurate underwriting records and contribute to management reports, KPIs, and dashboards
  • Assist in smooth operational functioning of the IIO branch, especially during setup and scaling phases

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-10 years of relevant experience in reinsurance underwriting (exposure to various Lines of Businesses preferred)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills familiarity with pricing methods and exposure analysis
  • Experience working with cedents or brokers in India or Asia is preferred
  • Understanding of IFSCA/IRDAI regulatory environments is an advantage
