UK Tax Manager

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For:

• Managing a portfolio of business tax clients
• Owning the corporate tax compliance process including preparation of business tax returns
• Ensuring all client and HMRC deadlines (filing/payment) are met
• Providing ad-hoc tax advice under supervision of Tax Directors
• Collaborating with accounting, payroll, company secretarial, and other teams to maintain information flow
• Managing client expectations regarding service delivery
• Serving as first point of contact for Team Leaders/Business Unit personnel on tax matters
• Assisting team members during high workload periods
• Conducting research and supporting ad-hoc client projects
• Assisting with billing process
• Managing workflow and communicating about absences or factors affecting service

Business Planning:

• Supporting Tax Managers in preparing budgets and targets for clients

People Development:

• Providing first-line on-the-job training for non-tax and junior tax team members

Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar tax role
• Ideally qualified: CTA, ACA, or ACCA
• Business and tax risk aware
• Client service oriented with strong client and people management skills
• Effective communicator across all levels
• Ability to influence and involve senior management when necessary
• Knowledge-sharing and team collaboration skills
