Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced UK Accounting Professional with strong expertise in UK Bookkeeping, VAT, and Finalization of Accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations for UK-based clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review day-to-day accounting operations for designated UK clients
  • Handle UK Bookkeeping, VAT returns, Year-end accounts, AP & AR review
  • Prepare Management Accounts and Financial Reports
  • Produce workpapers for year-end and management accounts
  • Finalize annual accounts using TaxCalc software
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks within established TATs and SLAs
  • Capture and track client tasks in Smartsheet
  • Collaborate with supervisors and clients for daily operational requirements
  • Communicate with clients via email and phone as required
  • Escalate issues appropriately to supervisors
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Document processes and prepare SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive and log client task requests
  • Understand client requirements and support accounting functions
  • Collect and validate financial data
  • Generate and edit financial reports
  • Finalize periodical management accounts
  • Schedule and coordinate training programs (if required)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and UK compliance standards
  • 23+ years of experience in:
  • UK Bookkeeping
  • VAT Returns
  • Year-End Accounts
  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Review
  • Management Accounts
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Xero
  • QuickBooks
  • Tax Filer
  • TaxCalc
  • Proficiency in preparing annual accounts using TaxCalc
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
