Role: UI/UX Lead
Experience: 8–12 years
Location: New Delhi (on-site)
About the Role
SIDH serves learners across India in multiple languages on mobile-first devices. Its current experience is fragmented — no unified design system, poor wayfinding, weak search and discovery, limited accessibility compliance, and inconsistent UI patterns across schemes. The UI/UX Lead will own experience design governance, design system maturity, and the accessibility standard for the entire platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern Design System 2.0 across web and mobile, including components, patterns, typography, spacing, states, and design tokens
- Drive platform-wide UX improvements covering clutter reduction, navigation clarity, journey simplification, search/discovery, and scheme-level consistency
- Set accessibility standards aligned to WCAG 2.2 AA, multilingual usability, inclusive design, and the needs of Bharat users on low-bandwidth devices
- Own UX review and sign-off for all major new screens, flows, and redesigns before release
- Partner with product on information architecture, onboarding simplification, certificate delivery UX, and discovery journeys across learning, jobs, and support
- Introduce UX analytics and feedback loops into product decision-making
- Govern vendor design quality; ensure design is treated as a system, not a collection of one-off screens
What We Are Looking For
- Strong UX leadership experience across design systems, accessibility, mobile and web platforms, and multi-team environments
- Ability to work at both systems level and journey level — navigation, search, content, and behavioural design
- Experience governing design quality across multiple vendor or implementation teams
- Solid understanding of usability research, analytics, information architecture, and inclusive design
Good to Have
- Experience with digital public services, learning platforms, employment marketplaces, or high-scale consumer products in India
- Experience with UX analytics tools, experimentation, and data-informed design iteration
- Exposure to multilingual UI/UX and design for Tier 2/3 city or rural digital users
