Essential skills

• Awareness of front-end security concern
• Strong experience of modern JavaScript Web APIs
• Experience writing JavaScript tests (Jest, Cucumber-JS, etc)
• Sass / Bootstrap
• Debugging using JavaScript debuggers
• JavaScript dependency management and packaging (WebPack)
• Git
• Basic understanding of PHP and OOP
• Experience building UIs for web-based business applications

Desirable skills

• Experience with accessible design (Aura, colour themes, navigation)
• PHP templating systems (Smarty)
• Experience with Mezzio or other middleware-based PHP microframeworks
• Working in macOS/Linux terminal
• JIRA
• Track record of contributions on GitHub or similar

Responsibilities

• Modernising the UI stack: migrating existing code away from jQuery and Less, upgrading bootstrap, refreshing dependencies
• Refreshing and improving the design (especially for pages visible to clients)
• Converting existing templates into reusable components
• Implementing new components and pages
• Follow industry best practices
• Effectively convey all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, schedules along with technical and process issues
• Document the front-end processes, architecture, and standard components
• Produce detailed specifications and mockups
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Interface with internal teams to gather requirements
• Organise the tasks according to the priorities established with the Project Management team
• Take responsibility for all scheduled development work and ownership of thorough quality control
• Take responsibility for delivering on targets agreed with Project Manager and notify immediately of delays and changes
• Meet objectives established by business.
