Shikha Learning Labs is our EdTech startup, operating from the same campus, focused on developing innovative digital solutions and learning products for teachers and students. We aim to bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and modern technology, empowering educators with tools that enhance classroom effectiveness and personalized learning.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to design engaging and intuitive digital experiences across both the school's internal platforms and our EdTech products at Shikha Learning Labs. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to education both in the classroom and through digital innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, educators, developers, and stakeholders from both Shikha Academy and Shikha Learning Labs to understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Design user-centered, accessible, and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications aimed at educators, students, and administrative users.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and detailed design specifications.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to validate design choices and improve product effectiveness.
- Ensure design consistency by developing and maintaining a design system that serves both the Academy's internal tools and the Learning Labs digital products.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging design tools, and best practices, especially in the EdTech space.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in product development or EdTech.
- Strong portfolio showcasing wireframes, prototypes, UI designs, and UX solutions.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or similar.
- Experience with user research, usability testing, and applying user-centered design principles.
- Knowledge of responsive design, cross-platform consistency, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Passion for education and digital innovation.
