UI/UX Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to lead the design of intuitive, beautiful, and user-centric experiences across our messaging platform — including mobile (iOS/Android) and web. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to design engaging and accessible interfaces that enhance real-time communication and usability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. User Experience Design
- Translate product requirements into wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and interactive prototypes.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate ideas and improve the product experience.
- Identify and solve UX problems based on data, feedback, and best practices.
2. User Interface Design
- Design polished, visually appealing interfaces for mobile and web platforms that align with our brand and enhance user engagement.
- Create and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
- Ensure consistency in typography, color, spacing, and interaction design across all platforms.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and QA engineers to implement features from concept to production.
- Provide design specifications, assets, and guidance for development teams. Participate in sprint planning, feature discussions, and design reviews.
4. Design Tools & Handoff
- Use tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Framer to create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes. Deliver organized and annotated files that are ready for implementation.
- Support smooth handoff and work closely with frontend developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Gather feedback from users and internal teams to identify areas for UI/UX improvement.
- Keep up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and methodologies in UI/UX and real-time communication apps.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for digital products (mobile and web).
- Proven track record of designing consumer-facing applications, preferably in messaging, communication, or social domains.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design thinking, workflows, and polished UI.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or XD.
- Understanding of responsive design, platform-specific guidelines (iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design).
- Good grasp of UX principles, accessibility standards, and mobile-first design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing real-time messaging apps or chat-based platforms.
- Familiarity with designing for chat UX, notifications, message input behavior, reactions, media handling, and dark/light modes.
- Exposure to user research, A/B testing, and analytics-driven design improvements.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS to understand feasibility and limitations during handoff.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and design sprints.
