Description and Requirements

Profile Summary

The right candidate would be a Senior UI/UX Designer with proven knowledge of UX design, research methodology, practices and deep expertise in both artificial intelligence (AI)and digital workplace products/platforms. This being a highly strategic and hands-on role, he/she will be responsible for leading the design of next-generation, AI-powered DWS products with understanding of user-centred design principles and their application to interface and service design. He/she shall draw complex AI powered products closer to users with user-friendly design, translating sophisticated machine learning powered analytics, proactive actions and automated workflows into elegant, delightful user experiences.

The role resides within the DWS CTO organization that provides excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team, collaborating directly with product managers, developers, workplace architects and engineers to define, design, and deliver impactful products. Your work will directly influence how millions of users interact with AI in their professional lives, from intelligent collaboration tools to automated workflow assistants.

Key Responsibilities

Design System Leadership:

  • Define visual identity/branding principles, style, and design system management, bringing together industry best practices, advancements in trends, emerging patterns, and their applicability to the products being developed.
  • Prepare & publish UI guidelines and design systems that facilitate development of elegantly simple, and intuitive solutions.
  • Evolve the standards of creativity and innovation while infusing quality in design and prolong lifespan of designs.
  • Contribute to and champion our established design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all product lines.

Design for Products & AI Interaction:

  • Design intuitive and effective user interfaces for AI-driven features, including conversational UIs (chatbots), natural language processing (NLP), data visualization for AI insights, and intelligent automation workflows.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups for new features and updates.
  • Contribute to the refinement of existing designs and user flows. Have a keen eye for detail and enhance user experiences consistently

Product Vision & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with developers, and stakeholders to define user requirements.
  • Partner with product managers and engineering leaders to define the long-term vision and strategy for the digital workplace products, ensuring a user-centric approach from concept to launch.

User Research & Synthesis:

  • Stay up to date with emerging design tools and techniques. Research and evaluate relevant market, industry and landscape trends to identify potential user experience enhancements
  • Lead comprehensive user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to uncover user needs, validate design assumptions and draw data-driven actionable recommendations and measure the impact of changes continuously.
  • Create UX research briefs, define research plans and timelines, conduct qual and quant studies, analyse results, build verbal and written reports, present to engineering and development teams.

Prototyping & Iteration:

  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and detailed user flows using industry-standard tools, iterating quickly based on user feedback and technical constraints.
  • Work with existing design systems and brand guidelines to create clean, simple, user-centric design solutions

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define user requirements
  • Serve as the primary UX design advocate of the engineering team, clearly articulating design decisions, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring a shared understanding of user goals.

Required Qualifications & Technologies

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of professional UI/UX design experience in user-centred interface design and visual design, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates a history of designing successful enterprise SaaS or digital workplace products.
  • Proven experience designing for products with AI/ML components. You should be able to discuss and showcase how you've handled challenges like model opacity, data-driven personalization, and user trust in AI.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Design & Prototyping Tools: Expertise in modern design tools such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Prototyping & Flow Mapping: Experience with tools like InVision, Miro, or Axure RP for creating and sharing interactive prototypes and user flows.
  • AI-Specific Tools: Familiarity with AI-powered design tools such as Galileo AI, Uizard, or Visily to accelerate ideation and prototyping is a plus

Domain Knowledge:

  • Digital Workplace: A deep understanding of the digital workplace ecosystem, including key technologies and platforms like Microsoft 365 (Teams, Viva), Google Workspace, Slack, or project management tools (Jira, Asana).
  • Front-End Principles: A solid understanding of front-end development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) to ensure designs are technically feasible and to facilitate clear communication with engineers.

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with data visualization for complex datasets and machine learning outputs.
  • Knowledge of generative AI and its applications in design and content creation.
  • Experience with conversational AI platforms (e.g., Dialogflow, Rasa) or LLM frameworks.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
