UAV Testing Engineer (23 years Experience)
Role Summary
As a UAV Testing Engineer will be responsible for designing, integrating, testing, and validating custom unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for mapping and survey operations. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Pixhawk-based flight controllers, advanced sensors, telemetry systems, and real-world flight testing.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Robotics or related field Certifications
- Valid DGCA UAV Pilot License(Preferred/Mandatory depending on role)
Mandatory Requirements
- 23 years of real-time UAV flying experience (multirotor and fixed-wing), including manual and assisted flight modes
- Experience in end-to-end UAV development, including component selection, system integration, ground testing, flight testing, and validation
- Experience integrating avionics and sensors on UAV platforms
- Exposure to Pixhawk/ Cube / PX4 / ArduPilotbased systems
- Experience working with RTK GNSS, cameras, LiDAR, and gimbal payloads
- Knowledge of onboard communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, CAN, and UAVCAN
- Strong understanding of flight controllers, sensors, actuators, mission planners, and GCS software
- Hands-on experience with UAV avionics integration and wiring
- Experience with data links, RF systems, and wireless communication systems
- Willingness to travel for field testing and flight trials
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with 3D mapping and survey workflows (preferred only)
- Experience designing and building integrated electronic systems
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping technologies
- Programming and scripting experience
- Knowledge of DGCA regulations, AS9100 standards, and aerospace compliance frameworks
- Strong attention to detail, good teamwork skills, and eagerness to learn
Key Responsibilities / Job Responsibilities
- Design, assemble, and integrate custom UAV platforms for varied mission requirements
- Configure and tune flight controllers, including parameters, flight modes, and fail-safe mechanisms
- Integrate and validate avionics, sensors, telemetry, and payload systems
- Work with onboard communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, CAN, and UAVCAN
- Integrate and operate RC, telemetry, and payload control systems (e.g., Herelink, Skydroid, SIYI, or equivalent systems)
- Conduct ground testing and flight testing, including pre-flight checks, telemetry monitoring, flight log analysis, and post-flight diagnostics
- Lead and support DGCA Type Certification activities, ensuring regulatory and quality compliance
- Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards and internal engineering processes
- Design and develop wiring harnesses, power distribution boards (PDBs), and avionics layouts
- Support system validation activities, technical documentation, and certification deliverables
