Aakash Aerospace Pvt Ltd is seeking a passionate and hands-on UAV Design Engineer with strong experience in UAV airframe design, aerodynamic analysis, and rapid prototyping for VTOL, fixed-wing, and multirotor platforms.
This role is focused on aircraft design and aerodynamic development using SolidWorks and XFLR5, along with active involvement in prototyping, integration, testing, and flight validation.
Candidates with prior practical experience in drone/UAV development projects will be strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- B.E / B.Tech, M.E / M.Tech, PhD or equivalent degree in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- or related disciplines
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in UAV/drone design and development preferred.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for:
- 3D CAD modelling
- Assembly design
- Manufacturing drawings
- Experience with XFLR5 for:
- Aerodynamic analysis
- Stability analysis
- Wing optimization for fixed-wing and VTOL UAVs
- Prior hands-on experience in UAV/drone development projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- Aerodynamics
- Aircraft stability
- Propulsion systems
- Lightweight structures
- Composite materials
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods including:
- 3D printing
- CNC machining
- Exposure to:PX4
- ArduPilot
- Flight testing
- UAV subsystem integration

- Candidates with practical project experience, startup exposure, competition teams, or UAV research projects are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop UAV airframes, mechanisms, and structural assemblies using SolidWorks for:
- VTOL platforms
- Fixed-wing UAVs
- Multirotor systems
- Perform aerodynamic analysis, stability evaluation, and wing optimization using XFLR5.
- Generate:
- Detailed CAD models
- Assemblies
- Fabrication drawings
- Engineering documentation for manufacturing
- Support:
- Prototype fabrication
- System integration
- Iterative design improvements based on testing feedback
- Collaborate with:Electronics teams
- Avionics engineers
- Propulsion teams
- Software developers
- during UAV development and integration.
- Participate in:
- Ground testing
- Flight testing
- Troubleshooting
- Performance validation
