UAT Manager

Job Overview:

UNObank's goal is to help bridge the financial inclusion gap in the Philippines and eventually Southeast and South Asia. UNO, which means one, sets the premise for our digital bank that offers one app and one card to enable consumers anywhere in the Philippines to save, borrow, transact, invest, and protect their finances easily, with speed and ease.

The UAT Manager is responsible for leading and governing the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) function to ensure that systems, products, and process changes meet business requirements and quality standards prior to production release. This role oversees UAT strategy, planning, execution, and sign-off across programs and releases, working closely with business leaders, product owners, QA teams, and technology squads to deliver high‑quality outcomes aligned with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and own the UAT strategy, framework, standards, and best practices across the organization.

• Establish UAT governance, entry/exit criteria, and sign-off processes for all releases.

• Ensure UAT activities align with Agile/iterative delivery models and overall release management processes.

• Oversee UAT planning, scheduling, and execution across multiple projects and initiatives.

• Review and approve UAT test plans, scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria.

• Ensure test environments, data, and resources are available and ready for UAT execution.

• Manage dependencies, risks, and issues impacting UAT timelines and quality.

• Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders during UAT.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, QA, Operations, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure business readiness.

• Facilitate requirement walkthroughs to ensure clarity, testability, and alignment with business expectations.

• Lead go/no‑go discussions and UAT sign‑off meetings with senior stakeholders.

• Oversee defect triage, prioritization, tracking, and resolution in collaboration with QA and development teams.

• Ensure that critical defects are addressed prior to release and residual risks are formally accepted when applicable.

• Drive a strong quality mindset focused on customer impact and business outcomes.

• Lead, coach, and develop UAT Analysts and business testers.

• Allocate resources effectively across projects and manage team workload and performance.

• Drive continuous improvement of UAT processes, templates, tools, and reporting.

• Produce UAT status reports, dashboards, metrics, and sign‑off documentation for leadership.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and maturity of UAT practices.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, or a related field.

• Testing or quality certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are highly advantageous.

• Minimum of 6–8 years experience in UAT, business testing, or quality assurance, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

• Strong experience in digital banking, fintech, or financial services environments.

• Proven experience managing UAT in Agile or hybrid delivery models.

Skills:

• Deep understanding of UAT methodologies, governance models, and defect lifecycle management.

• Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into effective UAT strategies.

• Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

• Solid knowledge of end‑to‑end banking processes (onboarding, payments, loans, deposits, etc.).

• Working knowledge of SQL, API testing, and mobile/web applications.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and decision‑making capabilities.

• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Customer‑centric mindset with a focus on quality, compliance, and business value.
