Utility, Finance & SCM Modules

Engagement Type: Freelance / Part-time

Location: Remote

Preferred Regions: India / United States

Sector Focus: Public Sector / Local Government / Municipalities

Work Mode: Remote, independent consulting engagement

About the Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Tyler ERP Techno-Functional Consultant with strong hands-on expertise across Utility, Finance, and SCM / Procurement modules.
  • This is a public-sector-focused consulting engagement supporting implementation, configuration, optimization, reporting, integrations, and post-go-live support for Tyler Munis ERP environments.
  • The ideal consultant should be able to bridge business requirements with system configuration, understand public-sector operational processes, and work independently with stakeholders in a remote, part-time capacity or as a Freelancer.

Utility Module

  • Utility Billing
  • Customer accounts and service management
  • Meter reading / consumption-related processes
  • Billing cycles, adjustments, collections, and reporting
  • Public utility operational workflows

Finance Module

  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Budgeting
  • Purchasing / Procurement integration
  • Project and Grant Accounting
  • Financial Reporting

SCM / Procurement Module

  • Purchasing and procurement workflows
  • Vendor management
  • Purchase orders and approvals
  • Receiving and invoice matching
  • Inventory / materials process support, where applicable
  • Procurement reporting and controls

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Tyler Munis Utility, Finance, and SCM modules based on client requirements.
  • Gather business requirements from public-sector stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Support implementation, process optimization, system configuration, and module enhancements.
  • Assist with data migration, validation, reconciliations, and system readiness activities.
  • Support integrations and API connectivity with third-party systems.
  • Build, modify, and troubleshoot financial, utility, and procurement reports using Crystal Reports / Munis reporting tools.
  • Provide UAT support, issue resolution, go-live assistance, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Prepare process documentation, configuration notes, user guides, and training support materials.
  • Work independently with business users, IT teams, vendors, and implementation partners.

Required Skills & Experience

ERP Platform

  • Strong hands-on experience with Tyler Munis ERP.

Module Expertise

  • Utility Billing / Utility Management
  • Munis Financials
  • Purchasing / Procurement / SCM

Sector Experience

  • Public sector, local government, municipalities, utilities, or similar government-funded organizations.

Technical Skills

  • SQL

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in Tyler Munis ERP projects.
  • Prior experience in implementation, enhancement, support, or optimization projects.

  • Able to work in India or US time zones as required
  • Suitable for freelance / part-time consulting engagement

Added Advantage

  • Public-sector experience in North America, especially US / North America municipalities.
  • Tyler Munis certification in Utility, Finance, or Procurement modules.
  • Familiarity with GASB standards and public-sector fund accounting.
  • Experience supporting utility billing operations for cities, counties, municipalities, or public utility departments.
  • Experience with finance-procurement integration, approval workflows, and reporting controls.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate is a techno-functional Tyler Munis consultant who understands both the system and the business process behind it.
  • They should be comfortable working directly with public-sector clients, asking the right questions, identifying process gaps, configuring the system, supporting reporting needs, and ensuring that Utility, Finance, and SCM workflows operate smoothly.
  • This role is best suited for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly, and support practical ERP outcomes rather than only provide technical support.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Tyler Munis ERP Techno-Functional Consultant with strong experience in Utility, Finance, and SCM modules for a remote, part-time public-sector consulting engagement.

The consultant will support configuration, requirements gathering, reporting, integration support, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live optimization across Munis ERP environments.
