The Opportunity

The Treasury Analyst is responsible for end‑to‑end treasury accounting, financial close ownership, balance sheet integrity, FX accounting, and compliance for Hitachi Energy's global treasury activities. The role has a strong accounting and controllership focus, ensuring that treasury transactions—including cash, debt, intercompany funding, FX, and financial instruments—are accurately recorded, analyzed, reconciled, and reported in line with accounting standards, internal policies, and global control frameworks. In addition to core treasury accounting responsibilities, the role supports treasury operational activities and working closely with HQ Treasury, Controllership, Regional Finance, and Shared Services teams. Acting as a key link between treasury execution and financial accounting. This includes supporting cash visibility, FX and commodity settlement coordination, and ensuring correct accounting treatment of treasury transactions originating from operational treasury teams.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Perform and own month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close treasury activities -related accounting activities including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for cash, bank balances, debt, intercompany funding, interest, FX, and financial instruments ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely closure in line with corporate timelines.
  • Perform FX revaluation and translation for monetary treasury balances, calculate FX gain/loss, and analyze impacts on the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Analyze interest income, finance costs, and related treasury expenses, investigate variances, and provide explanations to controlling and finance stakeholders.
  • Prepare treasury-related schedules and inputs for financial reporting and disclosures, supporting corporate accounting, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Perform and Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and SOX controls, maintaining audit‑ready documentation and act as a key point of contact for treasury accounting queries
  • Support ERP integrity and drive improvements through automation, standardization, and system or process enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve standardization, automation, and efficiency within treasury accounting and close processes, supporting global finance and treasury transformation initiatives.
  • Execute treasury operational activities such as reviewing daily cash positions, supporting cash forecast validation, and assisting with funding or liquidity reporting inputs.
  • Support processing and monitoring of FX and commodity settlements to ensure accurate accounting, timely resolution of discrepancies, and proper linkage between operations and accounting.
  • Collaborate closely with HQ Treasury, regional treasury clusters, accounting, controlling, IT, and shared service teams to ensure end‑to‑end accuracy across treasury activities.
  • Manage bank administration activities including account opening/closure support, mandate and signatory updates, and e‑banking user access controls in line with treasury policies.
  • Ensure compliance with treasury policies and controls, support audits and bank service reporting, and contribute to treasury process improvements and global transformation initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Should have master's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Must have 1–3 years of experience in treasury operations, banking, corporate finance, or shared services.
  • Exposure to global banking operations, FX settlements, or ERP treasury modules (e.g., S4Hana, FIS Integrity) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, banking processes, FX settlements, treasury concepts and Month‑End Close & Reconciliation with accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and treasury-related reporting.
  • High attention to detail, with strong control awareness and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with global stakeholders.
  • Self‑driven, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
