Travel Sales Executive – Short Haul International

Experience

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and target-driven Travel Sales Executive who understands short-haul international destinations and can convert travel enquiries into successful bookings.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling customers, understanding their travel requirements, preparing customised itineraries, coordinating with suppliers and closing sales while maintaining healthy margins.

Key Responsibilities

Handle customer enquiries for short-haul international holidays from enquiry to booking.
Understand customer requirements, travel preferences, budget and expectations.
Recommend suitable destinations, hotels, activities and itineraries.
Prepare and share customised travel quotations and itineraries.
Follow up with leads through calls, WhatsApp and other communication channels.
Convert enquiries into bookings and achieve monthly sales targets.
Handle customer objections related to pricing, itinerary, hotels and destination selection.
Negotiate customisations while maintaining company margins.
Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales journey.
Provide accurate information regarding destination, weather, currency, local practices, travel requirements and visa documentation.
Have a basic understanding of international visa processes and documentation.
Maintain proper lead follow-ups and sales records.
Coordinate with the operations team for a smooth handover after booking.

Strong knowledge of one or more of the following:

Knowledge of additional short-haul international destinations will be an advantage.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business or a related field.
1+ year of experience in travel sales, preferably international holiday sales.
Strong knowledge of short-haul international destinations.
Experience in FIT / customised holiday sales preferred.
Basic understanding of international visa requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and convincing skills.
Good destination knowledge and itinerary-planning ability.
Strong follow-up and customer relationship skills.
Ability to understand customer needs and recommend the right travel solution.
Commercial understanding of costing, pricing and margins.
Target-oriented and self-motivated.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced travel environment.
