Role OverviewWe are looking for a Travel Sales Consultant with 1–2 years of experience in the travel industry, with strong expertise in Japan and Southeast Asian destinations, along with hands-on experience in selling private and customized travel packages.
You will be responsible for handling travel inquiries, understanding customer requirements, recommending suitable itineraries, and converting leads into confirmed bookings. The ideal candidate should have strong destination knowledge, excellent sales skills, and a passion for creating memorable travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Handle inbound and outbound travel inquiries and convert leads into confirmed bookings.
- Sell private and customized travel packages, understanding client preferences and tailoring itineraries accordingly.
- Demonstrate strong destination knowledge, with Japan as a key focus area, along with Southeast Asian destinations.
- Guide customers through itineraries, inclusions, pricing, visa requirements, and booking processes.
- Build strong relationships with customers and ensure timely follow-ups throughout the sales journey.
- Understand customer requirements, handle objections, negotiate effectively, and close bookings.
- Coordinate with internal operations and travel partners to ensure smooth execution of confirmed trips.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, track leads, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Consistently work towards individual sales, booking, and revenue targets.
- Stay updated on travel trends, destinations, hotels, experiences, and competitive offerings, particularly across Japan and Southeast Asia.
Requirements- 1–2 years of experience in travel sales, travel consulting, or travel business development.
- Strong destination knowledge of Japan, including key destinations such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Mount Fuji, Hiroshima, and other popular tourist destinations.
- Strong knowledge of Southeast Asian destinations such as Thailand, Bali/Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
- Prior experience selling Japan travel packages or customized Japan itineraries will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience in selling private/customized travel packages.
- Strong communication, negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable itineraries and travel experiences.
- Comfortable handling calls, follow-ups, lead nurturing, and sales closures.
- Target-oriented with a strong focus on conversions and revenue generation.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting.
- Passion for travel and the ability to confidently communicate travel experiences and destination recommendations to customers.
