About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Travel Consultant to join our team in Velachery, Chennai. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in planning international and domestic travel itineraries, handling client requirements, coordinating with vendors, and converting travel inquiries into bookings. This role combines both sales and operations responsibilities to ensure a seamless travel experience for clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound travel inquiries.
- Understand client travel requirements and provide customized holiday packages.
- Convert leads into confirmed bookings through effective sales techniques.
- Achieve monthly sales targets and revenue goals.
- Follow up with prospective clients and maintain customer relationships.
- Upsell travel packages, visa services, insurance, and other travel-related products.
Operations Responsibilities
- Design and prepare customized international and domestic travel itineraries.
- Coordinate with hotels, airlines, transport providers, and destination management companies (DMCs).
- Negotiate rates and maintain strong relationships with travel vendors.
- Ensure accurate bookings, confirmations, and travel documentation.
- Handle post-booking modifications, cancellations, and customer support.
- Coordinate visa requirements and travel-related formalities when required.
- Ensure smooth execution of travel plans and resolve operational issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the travel and tourism industry.
- Strong knowledge of international and domestic destinations.
- Experience in holiday package sales and travel operations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to create detailed travel itineraries and quotations.
- Strong vendor management and client handling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, email communication, and travel booking tools.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in handling destinations such as Dubai, Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, Maldives, and other international locations.
