Join a team that offers best learning opportunities and work experience in transportation execution, supply chain and operations management. A place where you can start/restart/advance your career and progress to leadership roles at Amazon.
Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) manages best-in-class surface transportation across the Amazon Supply Chain network, connecting vendors, fulfillment centers (FCs), sort centers, air gateways, and final mile delivery stations. Within ATS, the EU Middle Mile team is responsible for the linehaul movements that knit our European network together, and for the speed, cost, and reliability our customers experience as a result.
We are looking for a Transportation Specialist to join the EU Middle Mile team. The role sits at the intersection of execution and program work: a typical week combines daily linehaul execution tasks with deep-dive analysis on linehaul defects, and contributions to ongoing process improvement programs that reduce those defects at the network level. If you enjoy moving between tactical problem-solving and structured analytical work and want to see your fixes show up as measurable improvements in network KPIs, this role is for you.
Purview of the role
A Transportation Specialist on EU Middle Mile is accountable for the quality of linehaul execution in their scope. This means:
. Owning daily execution tasks that keep linehaul movements on plan, and intervening when the plan and reality diverge.
. Investigating linehaul defects, identifying root cause, and driving correction.
. Contributing to defect-reduction programs by surfacing trends, scoping improvements, and partnering with upstream and downstream teams to implement changes.
. The successful candidate is comfortable working with data, communicates clearly in writing and verbally, and has the judgment to know when an issue is a one-off to be resolved versus a pattern that needs a process change.
Key job responsibilities
. Execute daily linehaul tasks for the EU Middle Mile network, including monitoring planned vs. actual movements, validating schedules, and acting on exceptions before they impact downstream operations.
. Investigate linehaul defects end-to-end: pull the data, identify root cause, correct the immediate issue, and document the pattern for follow-up and resolution.
. Maintain high-standards of quality and productivity in all transactions and conversations.
. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (carriers, FCs, sort centers, scheduling, and tech teams) to facilitate the flow of information and resolve issues that affect business continuity.
. Pull data from internal tools and databases to perform reporting and analysis use the data to drive day-to-day decisions and to inform program priorities.
A day in the life
This is an office-based role aligned to the EU Middle Mile network.
A typical day blends three streams of work: handling the live execution checklist for the shift, working defects from the previous day's run to root cause and corrective action, and making progress on a defect-reduction or process-improvement workstream the team is currently driving.
