Position Title - Transport Expert
Location - Gujarat
About the Role:
KPMG is seeking a Transport Expert to support transportation and urban mobility assignments across various government and public sector initiatives in Gujarat. The selected professional will work closely with state government departments, urban local bodies (ULBs), development authorities, smart city SPVs, and other stakeholders to provide technical and strategic advisory services related to transportation planning, mobility enhancement, infrastructure development, and project implementation.
Educational Qualification:
- Mandatory - Master's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Transport Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, or equivalent.
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in transportation planning and infrastructure projects.
The role requires expertise in transportation planning, traffic engineering, urban mobility solutions, policy advisory, project monitoring, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation Planning & Advisory
- Support preparation and review of transportation and mobility plans.
- Conduct transportation demand assessments and mobility studies.
- Evaluate public transport systems, road infrastructure, and multimodal connectivity.
- Develop strategies for sustainable urban mobility and transit-oriented development.
- Support preparation of Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMPs), traffic studies, and transport master plans.
2. Project Management & Monitoring:
- Assist government departments in planning and execution of transportation projects.
- Monitor project progress against timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify implementation gaps and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare project status reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
3. Technical Assessments:
- Analyze traffic patterns, congestion issues, and road network performance.
- Support feasibility studies and detailed project reports (DPRs).
- Conduct field assessments and technical due diligence.
- Review technical documents submitted by contractors and consultants.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Coordinate with government agencies, municipal corporations, consultants, and implementing partners.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and consultations.
- Prepare presentations, policy notes, and advisory reports.
5. Research & Policy Support:
- Support policy reviews related to transportation and urban mobility.
- Benchmark national and international best practices.
- Recommend innovative mobility solutions and technology interventions.
