Responsibilities

• Program Management
• Lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of transportation operations.
• Develop and implement transportation programs that align w ith company objectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Vendor management team, HR and Finance teams to drive program success.
• P&L Management
• Own and manage the P&L for transportation programs, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
• Analyze cost drivers, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and recommend improvements.
• Regularly track, forecast, and report on financial performance, adjusting plans as necessary.
• Operational Excellence
• Oversee transportation networks, including route optimization, vendor management, and fleet management.
• Continuously assess and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of KPIs related to delivery performance, costs, and customer satisfaction.
• Aid Vendor Management team to develop and onboard new vendors
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors
• Monitor and assess vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
• Risk and Compliance Management
• Ensure that all transportation activities comply with safety and regulatory requirements
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

Experience:

Overall 10-12yrs, Minimum 5-7 years of experience in transportation management or supply chain management, with at least 3 years of P&L responsibility.

Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation programs or logistics operations.

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of products like FTL, PTL, Express Surface, Express Air, Rail and Courier

Proficiency/ Inclination towards using IT tools including Transport Management Systems (TMS)

Centralized control tower processes

Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.

Expertise in transportation systems, route planning, and logistics technologies.

Excellent project management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

Soft Skills:

Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
