Job Overview
The Transport Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing all transport purchase processes through automated systems. This role emphasizes system-based coordination, data accuracy, and reporting efficiency to ensure smooth and cost-effective transport operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Technology Team and ATRM/TRM Managers for system enhancements, automation improvements, and operational analytics, without direct interaction with transporters.
Key Responsibilities
System & Data Management
- Enter newly onboarded transporters into the system with complete KYC documentation.
- Assign or reassign transporters to ATRM/TRM as per managerial approval.
- Maintain all reports related to transport operations and ensure documentation of system updates.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve automated systems for transport purchase management.
- Monitor and update digital sheets to track transporter quotes, allocations, and performance metrics.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly transport MIS reports.
- Monitor reports regularly and highlight red flags for management review.
- Present reports and insights during daily and weekly review meetings.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to all transport-related data and quote sheets.
System Coordination & Upgradation
- Coordinate with the Technology / Development Teams for system upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the Manager and ATRM/TRM for optimizing workflow and system usability.
- Provide detailed documentation for new updates and process improvements.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and support digital transformation in transport management.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure all transport purchase orders are processed and approved through the automated system.
- Manage data integrity, verify entries, and track progress of each transport transaction.
- Identify process improvement opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Support compliance and audit requirements through accurate record keeping.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- Certification in Logistics, Data Analytics, or ERP Systems preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transport coordination, or purchase operations.
- Prior exposure to automated systems or software-based process management is advantageous.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of transportation, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with route planning, cost optimization, and transporter management systems.
- Experience with TMS (Transport Management Systems) and G-Suite / MS Office tools.
- Ability to prepare and analyze MIS reports and operational dashboards.
