Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute the pickup and delivery of pharmaceutical, healthcare, and life science shipments and proactively follow up on all shipments, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
- The ability to manage time effectively is crucial in this role, as Transport Associates are often required to meet strict deadlines for pickups and deliveries.
- Prepare temperature-controlled boxes (Secondary Packaging) for pickups, ensuring that all required materials, including Dry ice or gel packs, are included and properly configured.
- Communicate directly with customers and Marken internal teams to ensure smooth Pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain and update real-time tracking of inbound and outbound shipments using Maestro system.
- Ensure that all shipment milestones (Pickup, Replenishment / Repack, Tender to Airlines, Recover & Delivery) are accurately updated and monitored in the Marken System.
- Ensure accurate documentation for all shipments is collected and verified by the Co-Ordinator / Supervisor.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise with deliveries, such as delays, damage, or incorrect documentation, and escalate this to Line Manager
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize delays, and reduce transportation costs.
- Clear communication with team members, customers, and other stakeholders is vital. A Transport Associate needs to provide status updates, handle inquiries, and coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients.
General
- Provide support to coordinate team members by stepping in to handle responsibilities during their absence, of current staff on shift ensuring smooth continuity of operations.
- Managing calls and providing accurate information regarding pickup schedules, shipment statuses, and any other customer or internal queries.
- Following company policies and procedures demonstrates strong work ethic and compliance.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks or unexpected responsibilities as requested by management.
- Transport Associates must efficiently manage schedules, routes, and deliveries. Being well-organized helps them prioritize tasks, handle multiple shipments, and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of computer operating and MS Office / Excel / Word.
