Are you passionate about languages and translation Are you motivated to have a direct impact on customers around the world Do you have linguistic background and love for continuous improvement and finding creative solutions to challenging problems Amazon's Translation Services team is responsible for providing translation tools and solutions to support the localization and translation needs of all Amazon businesses. We partner with content owners to translate and deliver content for customers around the world at the right quality, cost and speed.

We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead a team of 8+ in house Translation Specialists within our Translation Services Operations (TSOps). This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, people management, and analytical skills to effectively manage customer relationships and optimize translation services operations. You will have a solid sense of ownership, a data-driven approach to decision making, a passion for scalable productivity models, and a strong talent for dealing with the ambiguity of ever-changing scenarios.
In house translation team is overlooking translation quality across multiple language arcs by assessing and scoring translation and proofreading jobs, working with language assets and resolving linguistic issues. They also provide comprehensive and structured feedback to improve human linguists quality, train and enhance machine translation (MT) engines as well as translation and quality-prediction models.
In TSOps we recognize the critical role of linguistic expertise in building and improving AI-driven translation models. This role presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Science, Tech and Quality Program teams to shape the future of translation. As a team manager you will be responsible for overseeing team's day to day operations, support your team members in the process of role transformation by identifying skill gaps and supporting the development of training programs and collaborating with stakeholders to address challenges and optimize processes.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of 8+ members across multiple locations.
- Monitor linguistic goals and deliverables, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Together with peer managers develop and implement relevant KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Align with intra- and inter-departmental leadership on the strategy for linguistic quality governance.
- Partner with stakeholders worldwide to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with partner teams to leverage linguistic expertise for developing translation and quality assurance models.
- Utilize data to drive decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership.
- Promote continuous learning and professional growth and enhance the team's capabilities in emerging translation technologies.
- Coach team members on their projects and career development

About the team
Translation Services is a team in Amazon Exports and Expansions that provides translation tools and access to translation vendors to help Amazon teams reach global customers. Our tools use the latest machine translation technologies, GenAI and Large Language Models (LLM) allowing us to provide translation services for our customers at the right cost, quality and speed.
Translation Services Operations create synergies between technological advancements and human expertise and build a more efficient and effective localization ecosystem. Overall, we support Amazon's pursuit of global reach and language parity by enabling seamless translation services across all of Amazon's products and services to ensure anyone can access and use Amazon offerings.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- 4+ years of team leadership experience, or Master's degree
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- - Strong understanding of translation technologies, AI-driven translation tools, and CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with localization processes and tools
- Experience working effectively with science, data processing, and software engineering teams
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results, or experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, prompting techniques, and their application in the translation and localization industry.
- Experience with neural machine translation (NMT) and large language models (LLMs).
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
