Business Analyst – Transaction Banking & Payments
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Transaction Banking and Payments domain expertise to support large-scale digital transformation initiatives across Domestic & International Payments and Wallet journeys.
The role requires deep understanding of end-to-end payment lifecycles, strong business acumen, and hands-on experience delivering digital journeys in Agile environments while working with global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions
- Develop business cases for transformation initiatives and support benefits realization tracking post-implementation
- Create and maintain BRDs, Functional Specifications, process maps, and journey documentation
- Develop use cases, wireframes, flow diagrams, RTM, and business flows for Technology and QA teams
- Own product delivery artifacts including product roadmaps, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs using Jira & Confluence
- Proactively identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and testing inputs and communicate them early
- Support test planning, defect triage, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Prepare documentation and reporting for working groups, governance forums, and steering committees
- Track milestones, manage delivery risks, and escalate variances as required
- Support go-live readiness, tollgate approvals, and post-implementation reviews
Mandatory Experience & Skills
- 8+ years of overall experience with minimum 2+ years as a Business Analyst in Banking / Financial Services
- Strong Payments domain expertise including:
- Domestic & Cross-Border Payments, SWIFT
- ISO 20022 / ISO 15022, SEPA
- Wallets, P2P transfers, mobile and bill payments
- Cards: Credit, Debit (online/offline), Prepaid, Virtual
- FX engine
- Payments Operations
- Proven experience delivering end-to-enddigital transformations with ownership (Retail Banking required)
- Solid understanding of the complete payment transaction lifecycle
- Hands-on experience working in Agile delivery models (Scrum / SAFe) beyond ceremonies
- Strong proficiency in Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, concise artifacts without excessive technical jargon
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience in large-scale payments transformation programs
- Exposure to Core Banking / Payments platforms (Finacle, FIS, TCS BaNCS, etc.)
- Experience working with global banks or international geographies
- MBA from a Tier-1 B-School
Certifications (Good to Have)
CBAP, CSPO, CSM, SAFe, PMP, PRINCE2
