Role: Training & Skill Development Lead - Digital TechOps Engineering
Department: Digital TechOps Engineering

Scope of work: The Training & Skill Development Lead DTE will own and advance the training function for DTE by designing, governing, and delivering structured learning programs that build technical, functional, and role-specific capabilities within DTE. This role will define and execute the training strategy, develop curriculum and competency frameworks, and ensure all programs directly support departmental KPIs, compliance needs, and evolving business priorities. The Training Lead will manage end-to-end training operations, maintain training governance and documentation, and continuously monitor effectiveness to drive
capability uplift, career progression, and operational excellence across DTE.

Work arrangement: The role follows a hybrid work arrangement. Travel may be required based on project needs. As this is a high-impact role, you may be required to join stakeholders on-site at our collaboration workspace whenever in-person discussions or decision-making are essential.

How will you make an impact to the Business
  • Curate comprehensive lists of internal and external trainings tailored to fill the skill gaps as per business priorities.
  • Design and prepare engaging internal training materials that build practical, job-relevant expertise.
  • Develop strategic training plans that align employee development with organization strategy and KPIs.
  • Update and maintain the training matrix to track compliance, progress, and certification status and update same to Quality Assurance team.
  • Index and schedule trainings efficiently to optimize participation without disrupting operations.
  • Schedule and conduct hands-on training sessions that boost employee confidence, productivity, and performance.
  • Analyze post-training feedback and reflect the learnings in future programs.
  • Collaborate with leaders to customize training supporting key initiatives like sales growth or process improvements.
  • Foster a learning culture that reduces turnover, speeds onboarding, and enhances team retention.
  • Generate insightful reports on training outcomes to guide leadership decisions and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive competency framework for all employees within the department.
  • Ensure the competency matrix is regularly updated and communicated to Quality Assurance whenever revisions occur.
  • Ensure all training documentation meets internal and external audit requirements, including aviation compliance standards
  • EASA/FAA).
  • Oversee LMS platforms and digital training repositories to ensure accurate content management, accessibility, and continuous improvement
  • Identify training risks, recurring skill gaps, and compliance exposures and escalate them promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with functional leaders and HRs to align training priorities with workforce planning, career pathways, and capability-building needs.

What Your First 30 Days Will Look Like

  • Complete an immersive orientation to flydocs aviation-focused culture, values, and training ecosystem, with introductions to key stakeholders.
  • Gain hands-on access to flydocs internal training repository, reviewing curated lists of internal/external trainings tailored to aviation asset optimization needs.
  • Participate in developing training materials and plans.
  • Draft your first training plan for a flydocs initiative, such as onboarding new members.
  • Engage in flydocs team-building events and cross-functional meetings to build networks and spot skill gaps in areas like digital records management.
  • Review existing training materials and tools and the existing competency framework to get comfortable with what is already in place.
  • Understand current training gaps by reviewing existing training data, feedback trends, and performance insights.
  • Shadow current processes and workflows to gain practical context for building accurate training plans.
  • Define a comprehensive training governance framework, establish a clear training request and approval process, and set up recurring stakeholder review meetings to ensure alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Impact You'll Make on Your First 60 Days

  • Independently curate and update lists of internal and external trainings, prioritizing flydocs aviation compliance and digital asset needs.
  • Own the creation of a full training plan, aligned with flydocs business goals like records optimization.
  • Manage updates to the training matrix across multiple teams, ensuring full compliance tracking.
  • Schedule and index a full training calendar for the next quarter, coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and address skill gaps in areas like maintenance data.
  • Contribute to a training effectiveness report, influencing professional services strategy.
  • Explicit KPI measurement, success metrics, and follow-up mechanisms
  • Draft or refining competency framework aligned with Engineering Services roles
  • Deliver at least one internal training session.
  • Implementing post-training feedback system
  • Map training programs for career pathways
  • Review and strengthen training governance processes to ensure consistency, documentation accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Identify compliance-critical training gaps and create an action plan to close them in partnership with Quality Assurance.
  • Evaluate LMS usage and training repository structure, proposing improvements for better adoption and tracking.
  • Establish a recurring training review cadence with QA, Managers, and SMEs to ensure alignment and timely updates.
  • Align the training plan and priorities through regular check-ins with your manager and key stakeholders to ensure clarity, focus, and progress.


Requirements

What Will Help You Succeed in This Role:

  • Minimum education qualification: AME course completion or BTech/BEng in Aeronautical/Aviation/Aerospace.
  • 6- 7+ years of experience in Aviation Technical Records practices and training.
  • L&D or training coordination, ideally in aviation, tech, or regulated industries, will be an advantage
  • Proven track record curating internal/external training lists and developing materials that drive engagement.
  • Hands-on expertise with training matrices, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Excel, LMS platforms like Zoho), and ROI analysis.
  • Familiarity with aviation compliance standards (EASA, FAA) or digital records management.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, turning business needs into tailored training plans.
  • Data-driven mindset, comfortable measuring training impact via metrics like completion rates and skill uplift.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a passion for fostering learning cultures.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments, with a proactive approach to identifying skill gaps.
