Transform Student Placements into a Career & Industry Engagement Engine

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), Tirupati, is looking to strengthen its Training & Placement function and build deeper relationships with industry.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Training & Placement Officer who can move beyond traditional placement coordination and build a strong ecosystem around careers, internships, industry partnerships and student employability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Industry & Corporate Relations

• Build and maintain relationships with leading companies across technology, engineering, manufacturing, BFSI, consulting and emerging sectors.
• Develop a strong corporate network for recruitment, internships, live projects and industry engagement.
• Identify and onboard new recruiters, with a focus on improving the quality and diversity of opportunities available to students.
• Represent SVCE with industry leaders and corporate HR teams.

Placements

• Develop and execute the annual campus placement strategy.
• Drive placement outcomes across departments and programmes.
• Manage the complete recruitment cycle from employer engagement to offer conversion.
• Track recruiter performance, student participation and placement outcomes through data and dashboards.
• Build strategies to improve average compensation, recruiter quality and placement percentage.

Internships & Experiential Learning

• Create structured internship opportunities across disciplines.
• Develop partnerships for live projects, industry visits, mentorship and experiential learning.
• Encourage students to gain meaningful industry exposure before graduation.

Student Employability

• Assess student skill gaps and work with academic/functional teams to develop targeted training programmes.
• Strengthen aptitude, communication, technical, interview and workplace-readiness programmes.
• Develop differentiated career pathways for students interested in employment, higher education and entrepreneurship.

Alumni & Employer Network

• Leverage alumni networks to create new industry connections.
• Build an active employer/alumni ecosystem supporting student careers.

Reporting & Strategy

• Develop placement and career dashboards for institutional leadership.
• Benchmark SVCE against leading engineering institutions.
• Present periodic reports, insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Graduate / Postgraduate degree; MBA / PGDM preferred.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in campus recruitment, corporate HR, placements, industry relations, employability or a related field.
• Strong experience in engineering/technology campus recruitment is preferred.
• Established corporate relationships will be a significant advantage.
