About the role

The Training and Curriculum Specialist will lead curriculum development, partner capacity building, and training delivery across Opportunity's health programs. You will work closely with partners to contextualise materials, strengthen training systems, and ensure consistent, high‑quality implementation.

This role suits a collaborative, proactive professional with strong facilitation skills, experience in the not‑for‑profit sector, and alignment with Opportunity's mission and values.

Key responsibilities

1. Curriculum Development

  • Update and customise master Health Leader training modules
  • Conduct expert consultations to ensure contextual relevance
  • Align modules with program Theory of Change and evidence‑based practice.

2. Partner Capacity Building

  • Support partners to contextualise and customise training materials
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and consultation
  • Build partner capacity during onboarding and program design
  • Facilitate communities of practice to share knowledge and best practice.

3. Training Strategy and Rollout

  • Develop comprehensive training schedules and cascade models
  • Plan tiered delivery for master trainers, trainers, supervisors, and community health workers.

4. Training Delivery

  • Facilitate online and offline training sessions
  • Conduct refresher trainings and follow‑up support
  • Supervise Training of Trainers (ToT) quality
  • Apply participatory and adult learning methodologies.

5. Health Leaders Materials and SOPs

  • Contribute to Health Leaders manuals and shared resources
  • Streamline materials across partners
  • Maintain a centralised, user‑friendly repository.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in curriculum development, adult learning, and training delivery
  • Experience with IEC/BCC materials
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and coordination skills
  • Proficiency with digital training tools
  • Excellent English communication; additional regional languages (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Bahasa) highly valued
  • Experience with NGOs, community‑based organisations, or development sector programs
  • In‑country implementation experience in Uganda, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, or similar contexts
  • Alignment with Opportunity's mission, vision, values, and faith‑based ethos.
