Job Description


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and applicable state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Handle Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S and related tax schedules and forms.
  • Research federal and state tax laws, regulations, and IRS guidance.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Respond to IRS notices and assist with tax controversy and resolution matters.
  • Represent clients before the IRS as permitted under EA authorization.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain required tax information and explain tax positions and filing requirements.
  • Assist with tax planning, estimated taxes, extensions, and amended returns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workpapers.
  • Stay current with changes in U.S. tax legislation and IRS procedures.
  • Coordinate with accounting and finance teams where required.
  • Maintain professional standards and protect confidential taxpayer information.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Enrolled Agent (EA) credential issued by the IRS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in U.S. taxation, tax preparation, or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal taxation and familiarity with state taxation.
  • Experience with tax preparation software such as UltraTax, ProSeries, Lacerte, Drake, CCH Axcess, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
