Trainee Wire EDM

We are looking for a motivated and eager Trainee Wire EDM Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a foundational understanding of machining and a desire to learn the intricacies of Wire EDM operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Wirecut machines, understanding technical drawings, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Purpose of Position:

• To effectively operate the Wirecut machine under supervision and eventually independently.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to read and understand technical drawings.
• Capable of using all measuring instruments accurately.
• Possess knowledge of Electrode Material used in EDM processes.
• Understand the basic operations carried out in an EDM machine.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety factors and good housekeeping practices in the workshop.
• Take responsibility for the tools used and handle them with care.
• Possess knowledge of selecting appropriate wires for different operations.
• Ensure that ISO 14001 and applicable legal requirements related to EMS (Environmental Management Systems) are appropriately addressed in the areas handled.
• Ensure that the Occupational Health & Safety management system requirements are appropriately addressed in the areas handled.
• Capable of setting the job and electrode for basic operations.
• Capable of sparking the profile of simple inserts.
• Capable of clearly understanding the operation-wise process and identifying the correct electrodes.
• Capable of setting the job and basic electrodes.
• Possess knowledge of Spark Gap and the EDM cycle.

Qualification:

• DME or ITI

Work Experience & Skills:

• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Good communication skills, especially during shift handover.
