Trainee Site Manager

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Trainee Site Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Control and Quality Management policies, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
  • Assist Site Manager with the co-ordination and control of the project, including staff, labour and sub-contractors, from the construction phase through to completion and handover to the Client.
  • Attend sub-contractor progress meetings, site safety meetings, co-ordination meetings, and any other meetings as necessary with the Senior Site Manager/Project Manager to ensure the project operates efficiently.
  • Ensure all project documentation is completed as outlined within the Project Quality Plan.
  • Ensure all plant is used efficiently on site.
  • Support Site Manager with short-term programmes.
  • Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams and neighbours as well as any other stakeholders.
  • Continually develop knowledge of innovative construction techniques and products to improve the business.
  • Contribute to the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • At all times to represent the company in the best possible way, be courteous and professional working to the highest ethical standards.
  • Ad hoc duties assigned by your line manager in connection with operational requirements

Skills/Quantities/Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience in the construction industry via work placement or similar
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Certified in SMSTS
  • Good knowledge of current construction techniques, building standards and construction regulations
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Methodical approach to tasks undertaken
  • Ability to work on own initiative
