Fusie Engineers is an fast growing global engineering consultancy delivering structural and marine engineering solutions to the offshore, maritime and heavy engineering sectors. Our projects involve floating operations, seakeeping assessments, offshore installation engineering, and structural design governed by international standards.

We are strengthening our capability in hydrodynamic and marine structural analysis and are looking to train engineers who want to build strong fundamentals in naval architecture, marine dynamics and offshore engineering. The emphasis is on structured thinking, first-principles reasoning and technical depth, not simply learning software tools.

The Role

The Trainee Naval Architect position focuses on understanding the behavior of floating structures under environmental loading and the interaction between marine dynamics and structural systems.

You will work closely with senior engineers and gradually develop the ability to analyze and interpret vessel motions, environmental forces and structural responses in offshore conditions. The role combines hydrodynamic analysis, marine engineering fundamentals and structural understanding.

Hydrostatics/Hydrodynamics / Marine Dynamics Exposure

• Assist in intact/damage stability, seakeeping analysis and vessel motion studies
• Support development of RAOs and motion response assessments
• Assist with analysis of floating bodies under wave and environmental loading
• Learn basic mooring analysis concepts and vessel–structure interaction behavior

Marine Structural Exposure

• Assist with global and local structural analysis of vessels, barges and floating equipment
• Support deck strengthening and grillage system design
• Assist in seafastening analysis for transport operations
• Support development of static and dynamic load cases
• Assist in FEM modelling using tools such as RFEM, ANSYS or similar platforms

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or Marine Engineering
• Strong foundation in rigid body dynamics, hydrodynamics and strength of materials
• Interest in offshore and maritime engineering applications
• Logical thinking and willingness to learn from first principles
• Ability to question results and understand the reasoning behind them
