Job Description

Position: Trainee Engineer - Process

Experience: 0–1 Year

Industry Preference: Chemical Industries

Department: SCALE UP & COMMERCIALIZATION

Location: As per company requirement

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

•Assist senior engineers in monitoring plant process performance and ensuring safe day-to-day operations.

• Support preparation and review of process engineering documents including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and standard operating procedures.

• Assist in commissioning activities, plant startup/shutdown procedures, and routine troubleshooting under supervision.

• Participate in process simulation exercises and help document improvement recommendations for productivity and energy efficiency.

• Coordinate with production, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and maintenance teams for smooth plant operations.

• Learn and strictly adhere to process safety standards, HSE guidelines, and quality requirements applicable to the plant.

• Collect, record, and organize operational data to support analysis and performance reporting by senior engineers.

• Assist in root cause analysis exercises and help document corrective and preventive action reports.

• Provide support during vendor discussions, technical evaluations, and project execution activities as assigned.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation, logs, and reports as directed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline (recently graduated or graduating within the year).

0–1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates from accredited engineering programs are encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of process calculations, fluid flow, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles gained through academic study.

Foundational knowledge of process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, separators, and associated utilities.

• Awareness of process safety concepts and general industrial best practices.

Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to engineering simulation or design software is an added advantage.Strong learning aptitude, analytical thinking, and good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Academic or project-level exposure to process design, laboratory-scale pilot operations, or chemical process simulation tools.

• Basic familiarity with process automation concepts and instrumentation fundamentals.

• Exposure to specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or research-oriented laboratory environments will be an added advantage.

• Exposure to Chlorine, H₂O₂, hydrogen or advanced material industries will be an added advantage.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
