Job Description

Job Summary:

Control Room Executive will be responsible for real-time monitoring of our bus fleet, ensuring vehicles run on schedule, and acting as the primary point of contact for drivers, ground staff, and management during trips. This role requires a calm professional who can handle emergencies, coordinate logistics, and ensure passenger safety from a central command center.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Real-Time Fleet Monitoring

  • Monitor the live movement of buses using GPS tracking systems to ensure adherence to assigned routes and schedules.
  • Identify delays, unauthorized stops, or route deviations and immediately contact drivers to rectify the issue.
  • Update the estimated time of arrival for various stations and communicate significant delays to the relevant ground stations.

  • 2. Driver Communication & CoordinationServe as the main communication link for bus captains/drivers while they are on the road.
  • Provide drivers with real-time updates regarding traffic conditions, road diversions, or weather warnings.
  • Ensure drivers are adhering to speed limits and safety protocols; issue warnings for harsh driving behaviors (speeding, harsh braking) detected by the system.

  • 3. Incident & Emergency ManagementCoordinate immediate mechanical support or arranging a replacement vehicle in case of a breakdown to minimize passenger inconvenience.
  • Act as the first point of contact for accident reporting; mobilize emergency services (police/ambulance) and inform senior management immediately.
  • Assist drivers in resolving on-board passenger issues (e.g., medical emergencies, disputes) by providing guidance or directing the bus to the nearest support point.
  • 4. Operational ReportingMaintain a digital log of all trip activities, incidents, and driver operational hours.
  • Prepare daily shift reports highlighting on-time performance (OTP), vehicle issues, and driver attendance.
  • Verify trip sheets and fuel consumption logs against the tracking data.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any stream (Logistics or Transport Management preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a control room, call center, or logistics operations role. (Experience in the Bus/Transport industry is a strong plus).
  • Proficiency in using GPS/Fleet Management Software.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel (for reporting) and Email communication.
  • Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Clear verbal communication skills (Bengali, Hindi, and Basic English) to speak effectively with drivers and staff.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts (including night shifts), as transport operations are 24/7.
