Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- responsible for overseeing the operations yard and assigning duties to WORKERS (Pointsman & Loco operators)
- Making arrangements for reception and despatch of locomotives after ensuring that points are correctly set and locked and line is clear.
- TO BE cOMPETENT IN ENSURING THE TRACK FITNEES FOR TRAFFIC MOVEMENT.
- Safe and efficient movement of locomotives within the depot
- Perform shunting operations safely and efficiently
- Placement / removal of locomotive on Under floor wheel lathe machine for wheel re-profiling,
- Maneuver locomotive through wash plant for loco washing,
- Carrying out handing and taking over of locomotives with mainline drivers
- Checking of locomotive properly before handing & taking over
- Maintain proper records and report of any abnormality in the loco
- Respect EHS rules and any work related processes
- Safe and efficient movement of locomotives
- Efficient washing through the wash plant
- Avoid detention of locomotives on account of operational movement
Qualifications & Skills:
EDUCATION
Diploma/Degree in any field from recognized University. (Regular Course)

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working in metro depot / railway SIDINGS (PREFERABLY 15 years for diploma or 10 years for degree)
- Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET
- Language Skills: Proficient in English language & Hindi.
- IT Skills: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
