Job Description

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Aligned Wealth Management Operations which deals into front to back functions include trade booking, reconciliation, settlement oversight, and ad-hoc & project involvement.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services ISG.

What You'll Do In The Role

  • Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars
  • Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development
  • Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required
  • Monitoring trading systems and Trade booking on a TD basis
  • Oversight and governance on daily reconciliation and clearance of positions/balances breaks, timely escalation to senior management on any outstanding breaks by day end.
  • Daily interaction with the Sales & Trading Desks and AWM business unit answering via phone any ad-hoc requests/trade related questions
  • Perform authorizations and verifications on trade allocations and all activities involving 4 eye/ 6 eye checks
  • Actively embrace process re-engineering to streamline / improve existing processes. Active involvement in project work.
  • Ensure compliance / adherence with Service Level Agreements.
  • Continually assess capacity & capability requirements and staff appropriately
  • Monitor process checklist completion and oversee process dashboards

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service
  • Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget
  • Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk
  • Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you
  • Experience in the financial services sector such as a middle office / trade support role.
  • Relevant experience in cash equity, fixed income, mutual funds, hedge funds, structured notes/derivatives products will be a key preference.
  • Knowledge on UK Client money segregation regulations will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work in Hong Kong hours to ensure all deliverables are performed within required timescales before day end.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time criticality tasks considering the T+0 nature of the transactions
  • At least 6 years relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
