Job Description

We are looking for a technically proficient Trade Support Engineer to ensure the availability and stability of our live trading applications. In this critical role, you will act as the bridge between the trading desk, back-office, brokers, and technical teams. Your primary focus will be on real-time application monitoring, incident mitigation, accurate trade data reconciliation, and infrastructure optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Support: Responsible for live maintenance and support of the firm's trading and data infrastructure.
  • Production Support: Monitor and support live trading applications to ensure maximum uptime. Perform pre-production checks to verify all systems are operational before the market opens.
  • Automation & Optimization: Optimize the trading application infrastructure and operational processes by improving existing automation tools and developing new ones, building and maintaining our automation stacks. Build and maintain tools and scripts central to the firm's proprietary trading system.
  • Deployment & Configuration: Work with developers to deploy new servers and applications, reconfigure existing systems, and track changes made to the system.
  • Incident Management: Act as the first point of contact during application or infrastructure failures. Coordinate swiftly with Network, Systems, and Broker teams to resolve issues while prioritizing the minimization of financial and operational damage.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate application failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis for outages, and log issues to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with trading teams and other technology teams to achieve a common goal.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between Trading Members, Brokers, and Back-office teams to resolve trade-related discrepancies or system issues.
  • General Support: Support our other teams with administration and operational tasks for the projects.
  • Data Processing & Reporting: Handle critical post-trade operations, including trade downloads, position consolidation, and report generation.

Skills And Experience

Skill Area

Linux Proficiency : Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux is required for troubleshooting application logs and system health.

Scripting : Proficiency in Python and Bash for data extraction, log analysis, and automating routine tasks.

Operational Mindset : Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain calm in a high-pressure, time-sensitive trading environment.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate between technical teams (Network/System) and non-technical stakeholders (Traders/Brokers).

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Experience

  • About 1 year of experience in Application Support or Trade Support.
  • Familiarity with trading workflows (Order management systems, Risk systems) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Checkmk).
  • Basic understanding of network connectivity (TCP/IP) to assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues.
